Your imagination tells a lot about yourself.
If you are a woman, I have no problem with that ; if you are a man, I don't like it. Bugger off.

How many men do you know go by the name of Penelope? My imagination should tell you I am a writer.

Telling a man to bugger off is rude.

It depends. Normally it would be, but if you are a man, in this situation, it is not disproportionately so.
But I certainly don't have a problem with you being a writer !

Perhaps it might be due to a personal confidence in my words? Or maybe I find lying to myself kind of tedious? On the net, when fallacies are tossed around, the only person one is lying to is themselves. I don't reveal everything, of course. What I do put out there is the truth, as I see it. And seeing as the words are usually in reference to myself, I'm entitled to my own opinion. Others may see me differently but it's not up to me to alter their perceptions by submitting flimsy fabrications. While this may appear Freudian to you (I have no way of knowing how you interpret words) it's what I am comfortable with. For over two years, I've maintained this creed and I've not been undermined yet. Dissappointed? Yes. Convinced I should behave in a different manner? No.

You may have noticed I haven't demanded proof of your identity. It's your personal freedom to be as vague as you choose. *added as an afterthought*
