Status Of The Fortress TV Show And Other Updates!

This is an actual video-capture of the TV show intro.


There is so much happening here that a report is probably the best way to keep people informed of the status of projects ongoing at this organization.

First of all is our TV show. The show is now awaiting a certification number (for Canadian content and other data such as budgets and such) and should be received in the next seven weeks. We are also getting feedback from TV networks and stations with regard to airing the show on their channels. Most will require conversion of our standard DVCAM to Betacam or Digital Betacam and we may also have to pay for close-captioning. One good point is that we will probably have the thrill of seeing the title of the show listed in TV Guide if we submit well in advance of airing! The show is all ready to go and all that really remains to be done on our part is the choice of broadcaster and time and of course.....money. Weekends in the morning are the least expensive, but some evening slots are affordable also. We will have to balance between time and size of the TV station in this regard. The vast majority of you have already seen the final copy and credits; to all involved this is your last opportunity to make changes to our credits, so make sure we got your name right along with songs and such; once it is handed in.....it is done and you must live with this for the rest of your lives (Ok this is a bit dramatic, but as you all worked for free and may not get another chance to see your work on TV.....make sure you get the credit you deserve in the credits..... ) More news as it happens in our dedicated thread in another area of our forums.



Dave Getchell at our studio recording his first album!


Where do we start with the record label? First, Dave Getchell's album is in production and should be released as a DVD in a few weeks from now. I have done a market survey of Dave's work and I have a demographic sympathetic to his style and thus a marketing plan. Details are to be discussed with Mr. Getchell but another album with more tracts and targeted for radio play is a definite possibility (one of Dave's songs was so popular as to make this more viable). Shane is in production of his album and Dan is getting ready to begin production of his album. Almost too busy in music production at the Fortress Of Freedom Corporation!


The Fortress Newspaper!


The Fortress Newspaper continues on with Mark as the editor of the next issue and the next issue after that slated for summer issue will be a "media extravaganza" with summaries and stories about our TV show and more in-depth stories and interviews of our musical artist and how to purchase their works and such, exciting stuff!


We will be making some important changes to FOF and IAIJ in the next little while. The most obvious change will be the home page for IAIJ. Now the home page will list links to relevant new stories, while FOF will still include all stories pertinent to the organization.



The IAIJ Press Card!

IAIJ will now be more active in recruitment and information gathering with concerns to the amateur and professional journalist in the field. This is all part of our final preparation to the application for NGO status which we will meet the minimum requirements early in 2006.

These changes reflect the methods each organization uses to promote free speech and freedom of thought. IAIJ is a more direct and proactive lobby and archiving database for journalists. Fortress Of Freedom is a media company showing people how to access the mass media to express themselves. Both corporations achieve the same goals but by different methods. The growth to date mandates the separation of responsibilities in these regards and is just another step in the evolution of this free speech community. In doing so we become more diverse and effective in our desire for a free society for the future.

All these efforts will have established our organization as a legitimate viable media company and advocacy group; and on this strength we will be able to apply to the United Nations for NGO status and media accreditation.
