Fire At Yonge And Dundas!
By Kevin Adgey
The fire still being hosed down!
On January 3, 2011 at around 4:00AM a fire started at a renovation site of a heritage building at Yonge and Dundas in downtown Toronto! The fire was a six alarm with about 125 firefighters called into action.

The fire threatened to spread to the actual Yonge Dundas Square site but stopped short at the newer buildings at the north east corner of Yonge and Dundas (the busiest intersection in Canada). Yonge Dundas Square is also the site of our own FOFSTOCK Concert later this year.

As you can see in the photograph above the fire was so close the area was closed off right at Yonge Dundas Square. Four firefighters were injured in the blaze, though none of the injuries were serious in nature. |
