Queen Street G20 Protest!

Toronto, Canada - June 27,2010 - Unlike the passive police presence on Saturday that lead to a riot on Yonge Street, Sunday was the opposite. We were at the protest in the Queens Street and Spadina Avenue area where there was bicycle protest and a convergence at the temporary detention facility for arrested protestors.
That area was cordoned off and everyone was being searched for rocks and such. In fact Shane Murphy has a video of the police searching through his backpack for weapons. The police started to form lines and these lines would eventually imprison hundreds for hours.
We were lucky and escaped that by minutes. Today was the largest mass arrest of people in the history of peacetime Canada and letl us hope it does not happen again.
