If you are a woman, I have no problem with that ; if you are a man, I don't like it. Bugger off.

How many men do you know go by the name of Penelope? My imagination should tell you I am a writer.

Telling a man to bugger off is rude.

I am out of my league here in terms of writing ability.....you guys amaze me! I am actually "squirming" to do another story, plus, people are slowely starting to consider me as a legitimate journalist. Rolling Eyes At any rate , I felt left out and had to say something. Keep those creative juices flowing!

Maurice? Do me a favour and tell Shadow I am not an alter ego of yours. I am completely miffed by his allegations. Who would have known that a validation would be required after such a short time in this forum of freedom.

Penelope who's free to be me!

Actually I think he likes you. He is a tempermental person, very idealsitic.....what the hell.....

My Shadow - Penelope is not me! Her writing ability should tell the truth immeadiately..... Everyone, be happy! I was getting to like this, and this is much better than the armageddon I had planned for this evening with my American friends.

I don't think 'he' likes me at all. He rebuffed my generously offered 'smooch'. harumph.

I assume My Shadow is a "he", but there is the chance it could be a "she". However, I am pretty sure he is a he and that he likes you..... He came back to this board a lot.....not for me..... Embarassed

It depends. Normally it would be, but if you are a man, in this situation, it is not disproportionately so.
But I certainly don't have a problem with you being a writer ! Laughing

Jeez... <sigh> Rolling Eyes
Correction with a slightly different nuance : Normally it would be, but if you are a man, in this situation, I feel it is not disproportionately so.

Be free to be you... if not yourself, then who else would be ? Rolling Eyes
I don't think you are naive, Penelope, but why would anyone take anyone else at face value on the internet ?
Well, "face value" may not be the right way of putting it... Confused Cool

Perhaps it might be due to a personal confidence in my words? Or maybe I find lying to myself kind of tedious? On the net, when fallacies are tossed around, the only person one is lying to is themselves. I don't reveal everything, of course. What I do put out there is the truth, as I see it. And seeing as the words are usually in reference to myself, I'm entitled to my own opinion. Others may see me differently but it's not up to me to alter their perceptions by submitting flimsy fabrications. While this may appear Freudian to you (I have no way of knowing how you interpret words) it's what I am comfortable with. For over two years, I've maintained this creed and I've not been undermined yet. Dissappointed? Yes. Convinced I should behave in a different manner? No.

You may have noticed I haven't demanded proof of your identity. It's your personal freedom to be as vague as you choose. *added as an afterthought*

If I said that I am a person just as you, might this be enough ?

That would lead me to believe you are female.
