Niagara Falls / May 07 2014: So our own Droops Holiday got to be an opening act of the legendary rap group The Lox! Yes The Lox are back! Having collaborated with the Wu-Tang Clan back in 2012 in the album titled Wu Block, The Lox came out of hiatus and released their EP The Trinity in December of last year. Presently they are on their North American tour which brought them to the Sound Academy in Toronto on May 6 then to our venue at The Spot (co-sponsored by FOF RECORDS Inc.) on May 7th and then on to The Arena in Montreal after our event. But before we go further here is some history of this veteran rap group called The Lox (from wikipedia):

"One of their admirers was the "Queen of Hip hop soul," fellow Yonkers native Mary J. Blige. Mary passed their demo tape on to Bad Boy CEO Sean "Puffy" Combs who signed them to a deal. At the behest of Combs, The Warlocks would later change their name to "The L.O.X" which stands for Living Off eXperience. The LOX gained national exposure in 1997 with an onside collaboration on Sean "Puffy" Combs' single "It's All About the Benjamins", shortly after gaining additional exposure with their multi-platinum tribute to The Notorious B.I.G. "We'll Always love Big Poppa". The trio later appeared on a multitude of hits, Mase's "24 Hrs. to Live", Mariah Carey's "Honey", and Jennifer Lopez's "Jenny From The Block". The group's debut album Money, Power & Respect went platinum."

The Lox would later break the contract with Puff Daddy (Diddy, and P. Diddy) and Bad Boy Records and then signed with Ruff Riders Entertainment/Interscope better suited to their hard core rap. Recently they launched their own record label D-Block Records which appears beside FOF on the bill and posters outside The Spot night club. That club was packed with fans new and old as Jadakiss, Sheek Louch and Styles P rapped old and new songs alike for the loyal crowd, some of which traveled great distances to see their group play again after so many years! Our own Samantha Blackwell summed up the whole experience as: amazing! Word has it that The Lox are about to release an album soon and this North American Tour is the wake up call, the tune up for their big event of a new album and a bigger tour!

As for FOF RECORDS's own Droops Holiday, the man dropped the bomb on Niagara Falls helping load up the house with fans, new material and his slamin' signature style that can only be Droops Holiday! Props to Sam for helping coordinate the big event and to Droops letting Niagara Falls have a second chance to see the best in rap from the T Dot.
