The Word On The Street, 2008!

Below are some photos I took at this year's Word On The Street Festival celebrating all aspects of literacy in hundreds of booths and displays. The festival takes place around the world and is held at the latter part of September each year. We were at the festival in Toronto Canada, and we have covered the festival for the last few years. One interesting part to this 2008 festival, was Maurice Ali (founder of the Fortress Newspaper and founder of IAIJ, International Association Of Independent Journalists Inc.) showing up with us to cover the event and forgetting to charge the batteries for his big Nikon pro camera! I used a little Coolpix camera and was able to save the day!
