The IAIJ Association would again like to make a special thanks to the Ontario Government Lead by the Hon. Ontario Premier Dalton Mcginty and the City Of Toronto under the leadership of Mayor Miller for their help in subsidizing some of the costs for our volunteer office staff!

It is hard for upstart organizations such as our to provide for those volunteers who wish to help out with their free time. Programs that assist us and help those participants gain critical experience in office environments are welcome and should be acknowledged. The actual amount of this per year is small in business terms but huge for those organizations such as ours that have no ready cash flow to make these things happen on our own.

So a big thank you to the Government Of Ontario and the City Of Toronto! These two subsides will definately make our lives here at IAIJ easier and more productive to continue. Once again thanks!

Sue Earps Becomes Director at IAIJ!

Maurice Ali and Sue Earps!
The International Association Of Independent Journalists Inc. - a not-for-profit corporation - is excited to announce that Sue Earps, effective immediately, has been appointed to the position of "Director" at the association! The decision was made by majority vote of the current board of directors. Sue was one of the founding members of the journalist organization and is a published journalist with many reports published in newspapers. As an aside, she will also become a director at the archiving corporation (International Archiving Of Independent Journalsits Inc.) and Fortress Of Freedom Inc. when we submit our annual returns next month.
Congratulations Sue, and best of wishes and success in your new position!

Sue Earps Sets Up Second IAIJ/FOF Office In London, England!

Sue Earps!
The IAIJ group and FOF Corporation are pleased to state that Sue Earps will be setting up a second office in London England! The second office in the European theater of operations will further our reach and service to these international journalist and media companies! Sue is a native of England and paid us a visit at our Toronto offices this past week; and after a look at our operations was made a director and charged with the job of setting up the new office!

The International Association Of Independent Journalists Inc. - a not-for-profit corporation - is pleased to announce that WW2 D-day Campaign Veteran and famous harmonica musician Donald "Boots" Brasseur, has been awarded the 2008 IAIJ Award For Journalism! Don got the award from nominations and final majority vote of the Board OF Directors at IAIJ for his work in the half hour documentary: "The Life And Times Of Donald "Boots" Brasseur."

It is back to my usual routine. I see the new Sony Z7U has major problems so I am happy I bought with Canon XH-A1. We are still small and can't afford to make bad decisions. I got the Canon after the V1 disaster of the earlier Sony. The Canon seems to be working out well. So another decision that I am happy with. As an aside, I almost do not ever use the PD-170, the camera that took us this far, funny how technology can obsolete truly great hardware.....
Our priority at the moment is the constant Trademark process that is never ending.....
Yikes! I was reading the biography of Carl Icahn - 46 richest person on earth and legendary corporate raider to whom Gordon Gekko of "Wallstreet" was based - was a philosophy major in university (just like me). The Gekko charactor was also based on Ivan Frederick Boesky who gave the speech on greed at the University of California, but this guy was not so elequent and successful in his philosophy in business - so I concentrate on Carl Icahn..... I wonder what happened there (Carl Icahn ) and whether that kind of corruption could happen to me. I really wonder how he thought it all out to do the things he has done..... It should be remembered that it was Carl Icahn that made the hostile takeover of TWA and the resulting sell off of assets in 1985. He also was in bed with famous junk bond trader Michael Milken for a while until Milken was arrested on charges relating to insider trading. |

| Man can things get quiet. Actually they have always been quiet in a way. I think the girls put it more to the point saying that everyone is just really hanging in there to see what happens. I don't think it is "gee wizz" look where we are going, but more about not cutting the cord incase something big happens. People are in this wait and see mode. I have to do things that I feel are valuable for the organization and the people involved. Walking around with a placard on the street will not do it. I have to think big as there is no middle ground anymore. Let me repeat - There Is No Middle Ground Anymore! You can't rely on the charity of others, it just is not there. Radio play, for example is almost non-existent for urban music "up and comers" in Canada, as an example. Much the same for Rock the doors mostly have shut. I can make a difference in TV and we have that capability. We all gain here and this is where we are headed. I am following my own advice now, almost all other advice simply will not work, redundant and doomed to failure. 99.999 percent do it one way and 99.999 percent fail, a case of stupidity and utter lack of innovation or imagination..... So we are going about it in a more novel way..... |

Shane Murphy
The Fortress Of Freedom Corporation is pleased to announce that Shane Anthony Murphy has been appointed as A/R Manager for all forms of music in Canada/North America and also for our newest areas in UK/European Union! The appointment is an update to his past position as A/R Manager for Urban Music. His duties will be to scout and note trends in the music of both continents and recommend acts of interest to the corporation while also helping with the management and relations of present artists.

Shane Murphy is an innovative urban musician who's first album "Real Life" was a tour-de-force statement f life on the street. At FOF - as A/R Manager - Shane was personally responsible for bringing in Gritz and Shaun Kelly, both resulting in successful albums currently on sale for FOF! This dynamic man has certainly been an asset at Fortress Of Freedom Inc.

I am just taking it easy this weekend. I am very tired, more than I thought and was sleeping in the car while doing errands. So I am pulling back a bit. I have sorted out all the paper for Sue as the position means updating all three corporations at the Federal and Provincial level, and the tradmark submission update is almost ready.
Much more but I am too tired, so stay tuned tomorrow...that is if you find this stuff interesting..... |
