I upgraded Pro Tools to 7.3.1 and did the update and also nailed down the workflow with my little Tascam. That also gave me the opportunity to buy Sennheiser headphones that can stay put on one interface to monitor all audio.....
I have also started editing the Don Brasseur Video, so we have started the two week marathon with a bang..... |

So I go to bed at almost 3:50 in the morning now. Anyway, yesterday I visited the dentist in over a year and expected the worst, but it turned out that I was cavity free and in the clear on most counts. So that was one thing off my mind. I am back to FOF - the marathon - and will try to visit the CBC to see if I can get Boot's video and use it in his show. I also have to visit the CRTC soon and I purchased another video tripod and head - an old Manfrotto 136. I had to do this as the tripod I was using was really this flimsy little camera thing with a camera head - all is proper now and we can do multi-cam shoots with solid tripods.
I seem to have been spending money like a sailor on shore leave - but it is now or never. We will be watching pennies shortly and looking for the company to sustain itself - so now is the time. We have enough to carry us through to the end. I can not do this again at my age so I want no regrets at the end of this experiment. Sometimes I wonder and concern myself with what I have been doing these past few years. Four years this November. The entertainment industry was furthest from my mind as to what I would be doing with myself, but here we are.
Without FOF I would probably be driving a nice sporty car and be setup slightly better financially at this time - but what is the point of more security when whatever youth you have is disappearing before you..... At least we are all on an adventure, with no sure ending. Always some danger there, but we are all living right now. I have kept alive dreams and ambitions for all with our slow but measured approach to everything, it can all go bad so fast. But the experiment will be archived and put out there for all to see - I can give the world that.

Working like a dog and trying to get things done. Things are happening, so I should be happy. I do have two weeks but this is like being a kid in a candy store with the time to do all thwese things. I must like it or I would have to get my head examined.

Just a quickie as I am uplonding songs to the monitoring companies.....
Half way in my marathon. All sufff is off to the Archives. We should be further along on the Trademark application as the second part was faxed to them today. I payed another visit to the CRTC yesterday as a prelude to certificarion for Don's show and - as usual - had to endure the "horn of plenty" of exotic cars there parked along side my trusty Mustang. This time was a new Ferrari and a Porsche BoxerS <s> which was parked right in front of the CRTC building. I went up cursing the idea that I would have to wait behind that guy..... My car is almost ready to go on the block and we are signed up and uploading songs for monitoring - as mentiooned above. Kelly's covers should be off to production on monday and we may have some product in hand very shortly. There are also the personal stuff I had to get done, so so-far-so-good..... |

Very tired. Much of this marathon is paperwork. I have done so many things that looking back I see I did things I completely forgot about. So much stuff.....
We sent off Don's CD with his global warming song to Al Gore..... Yep, twilight zone time and the guy may have a better chance than you think..... Don's CD is also in the record stores now.....
I feel like Tiger Woods when he said that he only thinks about the next shot. All I do is look for something to do and do it and then there is one less thing to do and keep going. My head was swimimng when I started the marathon but things are clearing up finally. So I could say already that this time was well spent and the best thing to happen here in a while... |

Actually I took things a bit easy today. What was great was touching base with people. We crank up things this weekend and see what happens next week.....
Over sixty eight thousand views here, who are you people apart from those in the organization, what is so interesting about this. This is not a blog as latest entry is not first up. This is mostly an archive to access when we do the final post-mortum on the grand Fortress experiment about one man's insane quest for universal freedom of expression, and how he kept his ideals or became corrupted with money and hot chicks and fast cars (gee, I certianly seem to be making a case for the corruption alternative.....). I really would like to know how this ends, or perhaps it is best not to know. Usually these ventures end in failure, but we are still here four years later. Anway it is of to bed, actually I am punchig this out on a computer inches away from my pillow and a camcorder is about a foot away - that is a bad habit..... |

I get really tired and forget to post anything here so I figure anything is better than nothing. Today is the same, much work done around the house and the preparation of another set for one of our TV shows. I am ready to drop again right now. I think I am better just working all out as when I do not have time I think about things too much. Like the cost and where this will all go. Thinking too much is what prevents people from going after their dreams and causes them to hesitate and back off, but where are you when you are dead.....
Also, about the spelling, I lost the spellchecker when I upgraded the forums. I will try to get it back and possibly - for the first time - add a style for this place instead of the drab coloring. I am really more concerned with the robots that post stuff, like porn. I remove it daily but just hate the thought of someone's mother posting something and coming across that stuff, especially if it has pictures... However, I still need unregistered access as I always intended so that is something we just have to endure...
Now it is time for bed, but I wil add a picture of my new display rack in our reception area:

Non-stop since Monday and I sleep whenever I can rest my head. This is certainly an adventure, especially now. I suppose years from now I will look back at these days with nostalgia...right now...I just need some sleep.
Oh, we have a new receptionist in our own Ainsley. She will hold down the fort when I can't be there. |
