Donald (Boots) Brasseur Gets Song Played On AM740!
By Maurice Ali, President and CEO: FOF Inc./IAIJ Inc.
The Fortress Of Freedom Corporation is pleased to state that Donald (Boots) Brasseur's "Away In A Manger" from his album "Memories Of Christmas" was played on AM740 - a Toronto AM radio station - on the morning of December 21, 2006!
Morning Man Norm Edwards gave a stirring biography of Don and then played "Away In A Manger" followed by more comments and plugs for the CD. I personally was quite impressed with the segment and the accommodating nature of AM740/CHWO-AM to our request to have Don's album featured on this radio station. Fortress Of Freedom is a media access corporation and "watch dog" organization which endeavors to keep access to the mass media open to all. In this respect, AM740/CHWO-AM has fulfilled it's obligations under it's licencing agreement with ease.
Here are some quick facts about AM740/CHWO-AM:
AM740 has over 547,900 listeners.
AM740 has the second largest broadcast footprint in North America (next to WGN in Chicago!) AM740 is heard as far away as Bermuda and Florida. The broadcaster has 50,000 watts of clear channel (i.e. very few stations on that frequency).
AM740 can be heard during prime time from Kingston and Windsor, north to Parry Sound and all the way down the east coast provinces.
AM740/CHWO-AM is Canada's Number One 50plus radio station.
Congratulations to Norm Edwards and the folk from AM740 for being first class broadcasters and good corporate citizens.
